Habitat is very pleased to have been awarded $17,600 in Neighborhood Assistance Program credits for the 2010-2011. Here’s how it works:

1.  To be eligible for a NAP tax credit, an individual or business must make a minimum $100 contribution.

2.  Credits of 50% of each donation are awarded for the calendar year in which the donation was made and are applied to the donor's Indiana income taxes. This state deduction, added to the eligible federal tax deduction, can make your donation almost entirely covered by your tax obligation. For example, your $100 donation will really only cost you about $22 out-of-pocket. You will get a $50 credit on your state tax bill, and if you are in the 28% federal tax bracket and itemize, you will save another $28 on your federal taxes. That's $78 back when you donate $100! Donations must be received before June 15, 2011.

3.  DOWNLOAD and complete an NC-10 Form and mail it in to Habitat with your contribution. The form is also available in our office. You can also download the NC-10 Form at http://www.in.gov/ihcda/files/NC-10.pdf

4.  Habitat will complete the application and submit it to the state.

5.  In early 2011, Habitat will mail you the tax certificate from the state to be used as a credit when you file your Indiana taxes for 2010.

NAP credits are a great way to maximize your support for Habitat.
