What is Habitat for Humanity

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian organization that welcomes the participation of people of all faiths, and no faith, who nonetheless share its vision of a world free of substandard housing and are willing to work together to make the vision a reality.

Founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International is an ecumenical, Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing from the world. Habitat seeks to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and personal action. Habitat builds new relationships and a sense of community as well as new housing. At the end of 2007, Habitat for Humanity world-wide has built and/or remodeled over 279,723 homes. We complete another one every 10 minutes. Homes are built in all areas of the world by local affiliates such as Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County.  There are over 550 affiliates worldwide in addition to over 1700 in the U.S.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF MORGAN COUNTY
